Face Off

Face_2_face_sm

Sometimes we see things that make us do a double take. This is one such moment. At the station in Sheffield two trains appear to be confronting eachother. To me they seem to have faces, staring. Is it possible to anthropomorphise a train?

The Prisoner List

Pages from the Prisoner List

The book's title refers to a handwritten list of names (which still exists today) maintained under the most dangerous of conditions during WWII. The list was compiled by the author's father in a succession of Japanese POW camps and became one of a number of forbidden items that he kept hidden from his captors at risk of torture and execution.

Spate

Ouse_in_spate_sm
The City of York as always at the mercy of the elements. The river Ouse in spate starts to rise over its banks. Beautiful as long as it is not your property which is flooded. Saturday 13th November 2010. When incidentally I dropped my precious Canon EOS50D, in Boots of all places. They have horribly hard floors and it is now being assessed for repair. This may be one of its last shots.
